The market, competition and framework conditions for retail players deteriorated in 2024. Expectation of interest rate cuts and increased purchasing power for most people could balance out the increased uncertainty and some of the challenges facing the retail sector into 2025, but is not expected to take effect until well into 2025. We therefore expect the market to further polarize, with a small number of companies continuing their progress, while an increasing number of companies are pushed further towards the precipice.
